Anointing of the Sick

The sacrement of Anointing

How does All Saints Catholic Community Care for the Sick?

Like all the sacraments, the Anointing of the Sick is a liturgical and communal celebration, whether it takes place in the family home, a hospital or church, for a single sick person or a whole group of sick persons.  It is very fitting to celebrate it within the Eucharist, the memorial of the Lord’s Passover.

We have “layers” of care for those who are sick…

  • Contact the parish office if you or a loved one are in need of the Anointing of the Sick.
  • Come to any Mass and tell Father before or after Mass that you would like the Sacrament of the Sick.
  • Every Spring and Fall we have special communal celebrations of the Sacrament of the Sick during Mass.
  • Call the office if you need Holy Communion brought to you or a loved one at home.
  • Call the office if you or a loved one will be hospitalized or will be recovering in a local rehabilitation center.
  • Call or email the office if you know of someone who could be cheered up by a greeting card from their parish family or would find comfort in a “Prayer Shawl”.
  • Write your needs in the “Book of Needs” at the entrance of the Church so that the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass can include your sufferings and sacrifices as well.

It’s often difficult for Father to visit all the hospitals and Care Facilities that our parish family members find themselves, especially for short term stays…but it’s absolutely IMPOSSIBLE for Father or a pastoral care minister to visit if you don’t contact us at the parish office and let us know of your situation…so please call or email and let us know how we can help in your time of need!
